DER FILM HEISST »ZUM GRÜNEN BAUM «, DAMIT SICH MEINE OMA FREUT.
Sie wurde in einem Dorf in der Tschechoslowakei geboren. Damals hieß es Langendorf. Als sie achtzehn Jahre alt war, war der Zweite Weltkrieg beendet. Sie musste Langendorf verlassen. Der Zug, mit dem sie nach Deutschland kam, hielt im südhessischen Heppenheim. Dort lebt sie jetzt seit fast sechzig Jahren. Dort hat sie ihre Freunde und ihren Verein, den »Bund der Vertriebenen«. Dort gedenkt sie der Heimat. Im Sommer sind meine Oma und ich in das tschechische Dorf gefahren, in dem sie als Kind lebte. Heute heißt es Dlouhá Loucka. Aber wir waren nur kurz in Dlouhá Loucka, obwohl es wunderschön ist und die Leute freundlich. Meine Oma möchte heute nicht mehr in Dlouhá Loucka leben. Dort fehlt etwas.

Zum Grünen Baum (To the Green Tree)

THE FILM IS CALLED «ZUM GRÜNEN BAUM», SO THAT MY GRANDMOTHER WILL BE PLEASED.
She was born in a village in Czechoslovakia. At that time it was called Langendorf. When she was 18 years old the Second World War was over. She had to leave Langendorf. The train in which she travelled to Germany stopped in the southern Hesse city of Heppenheim. It is there where she has been living now for almost 60 years. It is there where she has her friends and her association, the »League of the Expelled«. It is there where she thinks of home. In the summer my grandma and I travelled to the Czech village where she lived as a child. Today it is called Dlouhá Loucka. But we were only in Dlouhá Loucka for a short while, even though it is incredibly beautiful and the people are friendly. Nowadays my grandma does not want to live in Dlouhá Loucka anymore. It is there that something is missing.
